The land of the Maya – Little is known about the ancient Maya who once inhabited this Caribbean paradise, but much remains to be discovered. Your acclimatisation trek begins in some of the most unspoilt jungles in Central America. From jungle training you will move to the ruined Maya city of Tikal in Guatemala – the film set for the Star Wars movie. Here you will live with a local family whilst attending a crash course in Latino Spanish, before moving to the Guatemalan highlands for some serious trekking. Having recovered from your jungle climb you can raft through ancient Maya caves and burial sites. From here it’s onto Tulum in Mexico to relax on one of the world's best beaches in the shadow of ancient ruins, where the team could spend some time snorkelling before returning to Cancun for some well-earned shopping.
