SPORTS LEADERS UK LEVEL 2 AWARD IN BASIC EXPEDITION LEADERSHIP
Adventure Lifesigns are currently running this Award in Surrey over 5 weekends.
The BEL Level 2 Award is part of the Sports Leaders Award UK Scheme and is a nationally recognized programme for those who have responsibility for looking after other people or training them in the outdoors in remote lowland environments.
The BEL syllabus is broken down into 10 units. Essentially this is a practical course with many discussion workshops, which are designed to tap into to other people's experiences.
The end result will produce quality leaders who can make the best use of outdoor training and anticipate any potential hazards (natural or manmade) that exist in the outdoor environment making training safe and enjoyable. Before final certification is issued all candidates must complete a minimum of 30 hours supervised voluntary leadership. Please contact our office for details of voluntary leadership placements.
Cost:£450.00 per person (+VAT)
Price includes Log Book, Certification, ECP first Aid, and all tuition.

Course Introduction Aims & Responsibilities of the BELA, Learning styles, Planning & Preparation, Conservation & Access, Instructional & Organizational methods

Leadership & party management, Navigation, Camp craft, Living outdoors & associated equipment

Risk Assessments, Incident management & reporting, Individual lectures, Weather and fitness

Expedition Care Programme, (First Aid recognized by National Governing Bodies) Scenario based with map reading exercise day and night time. Discuss and organise final weekend expedition.
5
Depart on 2-day local expedition to confirm all above skills, this will be held in Surrey near to the venue location
